Repression Spectacle 1, Cherry-Apple Peach, Oil on Canvas, 12"x16", 2025
This is the first of what will likely be a series; my series of repression spectacles. I was originally playing with the concept of various repressed-type figures in action, but upon showing this piece to a handful of people during the painting process, I found that the repression spectacle is actually the average American response to such a thing. This is what’s needed for a country in which folks are far more comfortable with violence than sex. Enjoy.
