Contrapasso in Pink, Cherry-Apple Peach, Oil on Canvas, 19"x33", 2026

She's officially titled "Contrapasso in Pink" but could just as easily be called "Tony's Summer in Tulsa '26". There was an annual ritual in the ancient world in which the sins of the community would be imbued into two goats - one would be sacrificed and the other would be cast into the wilderness. Everyone here is depicted with their medium of choice; the respective goats they’ll be sending out into the world once they've been imbued with experience. The canvas here depicted is the same canvas you're looking at, the same goat you're looking at. There's a little Cherry-Apple Peach painting an even smaller Cherry-Apple Peach onto its turned away face, nested deep down into the realm of perfect forms forever. Yeats said something about that lunar calendar in the back - that you can map an artist's birth, development, output, and death according to its phases. The magician of the tarot is the artist and he's pinned against an ouroboros out here in the realm of the imperfect, spitting pink all around.
